Safeguarding

We are fully committed to creating a safe, positive, and supportive environment for all members, in line with the safeguarding principles of JKS (Japan Karate Shotorenmei) and the WKGB (World Karate Governing Body). The welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults is always our highest priority.

Our club promotes respect, discipline, and inclusion, and has clear procedures in place to help prevent bullying, abuse, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour. All instructors and volunteers are expected to follow recognised safeguarding good practice, including appropriate conduct, supervision, and duty of care at all times.

Any safeguarding or welfare concerns are treated seriously, handled sensitively, and managed in accordance with established safeguarding guidance within karate and sport.

Safeguarding Officer: Jill Jones

Jill Jones is our appointed Club Safeguarding Officer and the first point of contact for any welfare or safeguarding concerns. Her role is to support members, parents, and coaches, ensure concerns are reported correctly, and help maintain a safe training environment for everyone. If you have any concerns about a member’s wellbeing, please speak to Jill in confidence.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and together we ensure karate remains a safe place to train, develop, and succeed.
